INTERACTING WITH OTHER USERS OOC

If you just read the title of this thread and shook your head or shed a tear or pulled out your hair in frustration, then you and I are on the same track, but some people really cannot figure this shit out. So I am going to post a few really simple rules so that if any assholes DO make it through the screening process, they are at least educated to the point of not being able to claim ignorance on the matter.

It is not appropriate to post your out-of-character (OOC) thoughts/questions/actions/blog/link to your myspace/what have you in an active RP thread. In fact, it is not appropriate to just up and post your thoughts and feelings out in the open ANYWHERE on this board, unless you are thinking or feeling something about the board. That is the deal. We do not want to hear about your day at work, or how your internet connection is shitty, or what you had for dinner, and we do not want to see pictures of the wild party you went to three weeks ago, or of your pets/friends/family, or of what you had for dinner. None of that shit belongs on this board. If you absolutely have to share that stuff, you are going to have to find another place to do it.

When PM'ing another user, it is good manners not to send links to your myspace/blog/porn collection/horiscope the first time you contact them, unless such things are solicited. Nobody likes to get a PM that reads "hey i think we should be friends my myspace is [link] i cant wait to see pics of u too", because firstly the grammar is atrocious, and secondly, you are not on this board to make friends (necessarily), and that is not what this board was created for. If your personal info is solicited, then you can send it. Otherwise, don't be a wanker.

Don't sent 20 PM's to someone if they are not responding... they will get to the first one, just be patient.

Don't cuss like a motherfucker in your PM's when introducing yourself or trying to get a point across, unless you know the person very well. It can be seen as threatening or harassing.

While we're at it, don't threaten or harass people. This board is meant for people over the age of 18, but that doesn't mean everyone has common sense or decency about them. If you have a problem with someone's perceived ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or any other aspect of them that is probably none of your fucking business, but it somehow offends you, then you can pack up and fuck off, because most of us are pretty damn tolerant around here. Which is not to say that you will not see some things in RP threads that come across as not-very-tolerant, because not all of our CHARACTERS are. But you are a grown-ass adult, so you should know the difference between you and your characters, and the difference between your interactions and theirs, with other characters and players.

JUST BE SMART, OKAY? JUST BE SMART. That is all I can say.

If there is an issue, then you are going to have to deal with either SharpestLife19 or Sandkitten, and if you deal with SharpestLife19 then she is probably going to ask Sandkitten about it, so really, you are better off just being responsible adults and shit. Because if Sandkitten has to deal with your personal shit, you will be looking at the business end of a ban-hammer faster than you can grab your ass to kiss it goodbye.
